35 Guitar Avenue, which brands itself Thirty Five Guitar Avenue, is both a boutique guitar shop and a guitar school inside Parklane Shopping Mall on Selegie Road. The retail side deals in premium instruments - Gibson USA, Gibson Custom and Gibson Acoustic, Ernie Ball Music Man, Tom Anderson, Mayones, Suhr, Fender, Ibanez and Paul Reed Smith - and the store operates by appointment only, with a repair service alongside. The school side is deliberately narrow: electric, acoustic and bass guitar only, taught one-to-one in 45-minute lessons across rock, blues, jazz, metal, country, flamenco and more. Scheduling is unusually flexible; instead of a fixed weekly slot, each next lesson is arranged directly with the instructor, and double sessions can be booked in advance.
