AdamCHAN Guitars

AdamCHAN Guitars is the workshop of Adam Chan, who has spent 17 years teaching guitarists to understand, maintain and even build their own instruments under his Guitaring Passionately brand. Based in a 1,200 square foot workshop at Block 3006 Ubi Road 1, the business is not a playing-tuition school: its courses teach guitar care and making. The core offer is a series of four-hour Saturday workshops covering professional set-up, saddle crafting and spot finish restoration, aimed at players and guitar technicians, including overseas participants. Beyond maintenance, Chan runs an 18-day class in which students build their own acoustic guitar from scratch, and he provides set-up and repair services for working musicians. He invented the KILN, a portable guitar dehumidifier designed for Singapore's humidity, which won a WIPO and IPOS design and innovation award in 2014, and his work has been profiled by CNA Lifestyle's Creative Capital series. Chan came to the trade from human resources and adventure education and retrained as a guitar-care consultant and luthier; his workshop doubles as a small community hub where local guitar enthusiasts gather.
