Lessons and programmes
Casa Musica teaches five instruments, and each programme is open to kids, teens and adults:
- Guitar lessons (ages 5 and up): technique and finger dexterity, chords, scales, strumming patterns and fingerpicking, across pop, rock, classical and more. Students can work towards ABRSM, RSL or Trinity Rock & Pop graded exams.
- Ukulele lessons (ages 3 and up): tuning, chords, strumming, rhythm and fingerpicking, with a varied song repertoire.
- Piano lessons (ages 5 and up): technique, note reading, music theory and repertoire from classical to contemporary, with exam options in ABRSM, Trinity LCM or Trinity Rock & Pop.
- Drum lessons (ages 5 and up): drumming technique, rhythm and grooves in pop, rock, Latin and jazz, with Trinity Rock & Pop exams available.
- Voice lessons (ages 5 and up): breath support, posture, pitch and tone in pop, musical theatre, classical and contemporary styles, with ABRSM, Trinity LCM or Trinity Rock & Pop exams.
Music Discovery for Young Learners
For very young children, Casa Musica runs its own Music Discovery for Young Learners programme. Mini Discoverers (2 to 3 years old) and Young Discoverers (3 to 4.5 years old) are small group classes of 45 minutes, while 1:1 individual classes are available for ages 3 to 5. Children play instruments such as desk bells and xylophone, and build pitch, rhythm and listening skills before moving on to an instrument of their choice.
