D-Flat Studios

Tucked behind a minimart shopfront in Tiong Bahru, D-Flat Studios describes itself through its teaching idea rather than its size: piano learning built on experience, not drills alone. Its Tiong Bahru room is a compact 300-square-foot space opposite Tiong Bahru Market, run at a low one-to-five teacher-to-student ratio, while a second, larger Tanglin Road studio holds five rooms for piano and vocals. Coursework architect Aaron Goh is credited with a holistic yet simple approach to piano playing, shaped to fit bespoke learning and shifting group dynamics, and classes run in a designed, entertaining environment where students can join musical discussion freely. The directory address is 70 Seng Poh Lane, matching the studio's own listing page. One caution belongs in any honest profile: a May 2024 moving-out sale notice on that same listing page raises whether the Tiong Bahru room still operates, and its phone number disagrees with the directory, so confirm both before visiting. The listing page also records opening hours running Tuesday to Sunday, with Monday unlisted.
