Dr Lin Piano Academy

At 722 Bedok Reservoir Road sits a piano academy built around one teacher's credentials rather than a broad multi-instrument timetable. Dr Lin Piano Academy was founded by Dr Lin Hengyue, an award-winning pianist and Steinway Educator who lectures in piano at Singapore Raffles Music College, and its own home page presents the school as one of Singapore's leading institutions for nurturing exceptional piano talent. The teaching claim is deliberately narrow: a strong technical foundation paired with musical artistry, so that students come out as skilled pianists and complete, expressive musicians rather than exam-passers alone. That claim is backed, on the academy's own telling, by students who have become international competition prizewinners and high-distinction achievers and who have gone on to top conservatories and music schools worldwide. Dr Lin herself holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance, with a supporting area in piano pedagogy, won the 30th Washington International Young Artist Piano Competition, and received the Outstanding Graduate Performer in Piano Award from the University of Oregon. What the public record does not yet give is just as important: no programme list, age range, lesson format, or fee structure appears on the academy's home page or the directory listing, so any enquiry should start with those practical questions.
