DRUM FENG

DRUM FENG does not teach drum kit in the usual school sense. It is a Singapore-based Chinese percussion ensemble and drum education studio, officially established in 2019 as a non-profit organisation, based at its Drum Feng Studio at 1 Straits Boulevard, #11-03A, in the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, where it is one of three representative arts groups. Its teaching centres on Chinese percussion and cross-genre drumming, under a threefold FENG spirit: Spirit, Peak, and Motion, meaning precision, mastery, and passion in every rhythm. The flagship route is the Drum Mastery Class for ages 15 and above, open to beginners and experienced drummers alike: a Basic Mastery Class running five to six months covering drum theory, essential techniques, and percussion pieces, then a Song Mastery Class that ends in live stage performance. Around it sit a recurring Basic Drum Theory Workshop, a SILVERS Drumming Class for ages 46 and above, and a hands-on masterclass series. On stage, the ensemble has a Gold Award from the 2017 Nanyang International Music Competition and a collaboration with Warner Brothers and composer Harry Gregson-Williams on the soundtrack of the Hollywood film The Meg in 2018.
