Drum Lessons by Japanese Instructor

Behind this plain directory title is a single named teacher, not a school. Drum Lessons by Japanese Instructor is the drum teaching of Yohei Kanda, offered through New Stream Brass Band, and the lesson page pitches it in the simplest possible terms: a lesson tailored to the student's needs and interests, for anyone who wants to play drums, play cool drum solos, or understand rhythm more deeply. Kanda's background is what distinguishes the listing. He is described as one of the few drummers in Asia who can play an authentic New Orleans Second Line beat, he visits New Orleans regularly to explore local sounds, and he has played with Grammy award-winning musicians such as Rebirth Brass Band and Trombone Shorty. Lessons are offered in two lengths, a shorter 30-minute session and a longer 60-minute session, with a low-priced trial class for newcomers trying the teaching first. The directory places the teaching at 35 Selegie Road, #05-09, Parklane Shopping Mall, and gives a phone number, but neither the address nor the phone appears on the opened lesson page itself, so both should be confirmed when booking. No age range, level range, or syllabus is stated on that page, which fits a one-teacher, tailored-lesson offer rather than a graded school programme.
