Drumlyy

Drumlyy is the opposite of a chain music centre, and its site says so on purpose. It is one teacher, Jorell, giving one-to-one drum lessons for complete beginners aged 5 and up from a quiet home studio near Beauty World MRT in Bukit Timah, on a full electronic drum kit. Jorell has played drums for six years, from starting on a borrowed practice pad to playing with SOLARA and working as a session drummer, and he says he teaches beginners because he still remembers the first month, when hands and feet refused to cooperate. That memory shapes the whole offer: no syllabus everyone is marched through, no term contract, no registration fee, and no books to buy. Each lesson is planned around the student in front of him, songs the student picks are the material, and the pace is the student's own, staying on a beat until it clicks or moving further in the same lesson when it does. A low-priced trial class is the way in, with rates on enquiry and no obligation or sales call attached. The directory gives the broader address as Blk 10 Toh Yi Drive with phone 9795 9339, while the site names only the Beauty World MRT area, so the exact studio address should be confirmed when booking.
