Emon Music Academy

Emon Music Academy, listed at 60 Bayshore Road, presents itself first and foremost as a school for Hindustani vocal music, the classical tradition of northern India. Its home page invites students into that tradition face to face, describing it as the foundation for vocal and instrumental performance in languages including Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Marathi, and across genres from film songs and bhajans to ghazals and folk songs. Systematic fundamentals sit at the centre of the teaching described there: sargam, alankar, raag, aalaap, taal, and taan, learned in the long-standing teacher-student manner rather than picked up casually. That vocal specialism is the only offering actually evidenced on the academy's own site as read for this draft. The directory record, by contrast, attaches seven instrument categories to the academy, and nothing found on the home page confirms piano, violin, drum, cello, brass, or woodwind teaching, so those should be treated as unverified until the school confirms them. Enquiries are listed by phone on 8369 8169.
