Faith Music Centre

Faith Music Centre, beside Stadium MRT at 3 Stadium Walk, #01-06/07/08/09, Singapore 397692, is a music school with a mission that sets it apart: the school says it empowers persons with disabilities and seniors through music. Since 2008 it has welcomed learners across a full spectrum of disabilities, including intellectual, sensory and physical disabilities and autism spectrum disorder, and the school says no prior musical background is needed to start. Courses span keyboard, drums, acoustic and bass guitar, ukulele and vocal, and its Band Mentorship Programme takes learners from a first note to performing live as a four- or five-piece band, with drummer, keyboardist, guitarists, bassist and vocalist learning how their parts fit together. The school reports that many learners go on to perform at community and corporate events, and some become instructors and mentors themselves. Its annual Singing Lotus Concert has put persons with disabilities and seniors on stage since 2014. The centre is a member of raiSE Singapore's Centre for Social Enterprise, and the school says music here is a pathway to confidence, friendships, employment and community contribution.
