Hathor Music

Hathor Music, at 476A Serangoon Road, pitches itself as a school for players who want to perform, not just practise: every student is meant to get on stage regularly, collaborate and jam with others, and make friends through music. Its stated teaching priority is musicianship rather than chasing exam grades, with ear training, practical theory, personal expression and improvisation taught alongside technique. The named course found on its site is the Foundational Guitar Course, covering the fretboard, strumming and fingerpicking, chord charts and lead sheets, music theory, ear training, rhythms and grooves, soloing and improvisation, song application and performance technique. Its guitar instructor, Alicia Diva Chandra, is described as a Yong Siew Toh Conservatory graduate with Highest Distinction who previously attended the School of the Arts, Singapore, and holds ABRSM Grade 8 in Piano Performance and Yamaha Grade 9 in Guitar Performance. Students join a community of vocalists, guitarists and pianists for music projects and monthly jam sessions, and between lessons they can upload practice sessions to the Hathor Music App for instructor feedback. A free trial can be booked through the form on the site, or by WhatsApp on +65 8750 8721.
