Hogan Music Academy

Hogan Music Academy teaches piano in students' own homes across Singapore, and it does so with a deliberate philosophy: music learned as fluently as a language, not memorised for the next exam. Founded on 23 May 2019, the academy runs a structured long-term curriculum called the Hogan System, built on sight-reading fluency, harmony as a practical skill, partimento-inspired improvisation over bass lines, free improvisation and composition. Pupils take a weekly one-to-one lesson across a 40-week calendar, sight-read a fixed number of new pieces each week, and keep a practice journal that lets teachers track progress and give written feedback between lessons. The academy reports more than 8,700 private lessons taught since 2019, over 64 students learning with two specialist Hogan System-trained teachers, and a feature in Expat Living in January 2026. Because lessons are in-home, there is no walk-in studio address; the directory contact number is 8977 2512, and enquiries are handled through the academy's website.
