King's Flute Choir

King's Flute Choir began, by its own account, over an evening of games, food and a shared love of the flute, taking its name from one member's place of residence on King's Road. What it has become is a community of professionals and hobbyists who hold other day jobs: professional musicians, students, engineers, teachers and doctors, united by the flute and serious about the music without taking themselves too seriously. Two doors open from that community. One is private flute lessons in Singapore, taught by professional performing flutists and open to students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. The other is the choir itself, which holds periodic auditions and welcomes flutists from Grade 5 level and above. Exam preparation is a stated strength: teachers prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity flute examinations from Grade 1 through Grade 8 and diploma level, with what the site calls a strong track record of results. Adults are explicitly welcomed, including complete beginners and players returning after a break. Enquiries go to kingsflutechoir@gmail.com, and the directory and listing page give phone 9686 0804. No rehearsal venue or street address was published on the pages read, so location must be confirmed on enquiry.
