Music Playhouse offers piano lessons in Singapore and a full range of children's music programmes from a studio at Lorong 105 Changi, near Eunos MRT. Lessons are by appointment and built around one idea: learning music should feel like a game, not a chore.
Lessons and programmes
- KiddyKeys and Co. for ages 1.5 to 3, with an accompanying adult (30 minutes)
- KiddyKeys preschool piano for ages 3 to 5
- KiddyBeats for ages 3 to 5, where children explore rhythm, tempo and dynamics on percussion, xylophone and ukulele
- Piano lessons for children, with the option of ABRSM, Trinity College London or in-house exams
- KidzDrums for ages 4.5 and up, with a path to the Trinity Rock and Pop drums syllabus
- KidzGuitar for ages 6 and up, leading to London College of Music or Trinity acoustic guitar grades
Fees and lesson format
Published fees start from $40 per lesson. Individual lessons run 30 minutes, while pairs and small groups run 45 minutes. Group programmes are capped at two students per class and fees are collected monthly.
Why students choose Music Playhouse
Lessons mix off-the-bench piano games, card and board games, and iPad apps such as Piano Maestro alongside composing, improvising and playing by ear. Students can perform at the studio's Piano Party recitals and its yearly SummerJam concert. The founder, Mr Tan Yao Sheng, holds an Associateship Diploma in Music and an Associate Diploma in Early Childhood Music Teaching, and teaching partners include Peter, a Lasalle College of the Arts drums graduate teaching since 2010, and Vivian, an LLCM pianist.
