MusiKinder ArtSkool offers piano lessons, violin lessons and music theory classes in Singapore from its studio at Blk 156 Yishun Street 11. The school grew out of the MusiKinder Ensemble, founded by Mr and Mrs Yap after their music studies in Germany, and has been running since 1997. Its programmes cover children from age 2 through to diploma-level students and music teachers.
Lessons and programmes
- ToddlerSteps (ages 2-3+): 45-minute group classes with movement games, singing and percussion play, with parent-child participation.
- KeySteps (ages 4-5+): 45-minute group piano foundation classes that aim to reach ABRSM Piano Grade 1 by around age six.
- Fiesta, Classik and Prima (age 6 and above): one-to-one lessons on a recreational, standard or accelerated track, with the option to move to ABRSM graded examinations.
- Music Theory, Grades 1-8: group classes, with Grades 6-8 taught by the school's directors.
- Diploma in Music Performance (ages 12+) and ABRSM Diploma in Music Teaching (online coaching for teachers).

ToddlerSteps is for ages 2-3+ and KeySteps for ages 4-5+. Students aged six and above can take one-to-one lessons, and the school teaches piano, violin and music theory.
Fiesta is a recreational track without the pressure of formal grading. Classik is the standard classical track for steady progress towards graded examinations. Prima is the accelerated track that aims for ABRSM Grade 8 by Secondary 2. Students can switch to ABRSM examinations at any time.
Courses run for 7 sessions. ToddlerSteps and KeySteps group classes are 45 minutes, Fiesta is 45 minutes one-to-one, Classik and Prima are 60 minutes one-to-one, and Music Theory is a 60-minute group class.
Yes. The Classik and Prima tracks are built around ABRSM graded examinations, and the school offers ABRSM and Trinity diploma preparation for advanced piano students and an ABRSM Diploma in Music Teaching pathway.
