Piano Lessons at Musical Dialogues

Musical Dialogues, in Toa Payoh, is built around one teacher, Pamela, and one instrument, classical piano, taught as private lessons in a spacious studio where pupils play grand pianos from German makers. The studio's own site describes a small, friendly, mutually respectful student-parent community, and a learner-centred approach that stresses technique, listening awareness, sight-reading and healthy, conscientious practice habits, with repertoire chosen responsibly and discussed with older pupils so they have a say in what they play. Exams are deliberately not the goal: pupils may enter ABRSM exams and diplomas if they wish and show readiness, but the site is clear that this is not the point of lessons. Performance still matters. Group performances run quarterly, with pupils performing at Library@Esplanade, the National Library at Bugis and other venues, alongside guest performers on cello, flute and violin, and the December 2024 concert edition, 'A Musical Odyssey', featured piano pupils aged 6 to 14. The site also reports strong pupil achievements, including a 2025 Golden Lion Award and a high ABRSM distinction rate, which are the studio's own reported figures.
