Piano with Candice

Candice Choong is a Singapore-based piano tutor whose stated aim is to make herself redundant: to raise independent pianistas who keep playing with passion long after lessons end. Her pedagogy page says she builds a solid foundation in music concepts and technical refinement, develops music literacy so students can read and learn pieces on their own, and prepares students for recitals, competitions, and official examinations, while also going beyond exams with concerts and a wide repertoire. Lessons are customised to each student's capabilities, pace, and needs, use games and manipulatives to keep learning fun and engaging, and are built on principles she names as patience, support, celebrating small progress, honest feedback, and working collaboratively with parents. Her home page also points to student and achievement sections and a blog of teaching reflections. No address, phone number, fee, age range, or lesson length was published on the pages read, so those details must be confirmed through her website's enquiry routes.
