Pianovers Meetup

Pianovers Meetup was never a school, and that distinction matters for anyone finding it in a music directory. Run by ThePiano.SG, it was a weekly social gathering for piano lovers of every kind: the meetup's own page welcomes the young, the old, the budding, the virtuoso, and the armchair enthusiast alike, and stresses that no musical background was required. Evenings followed a familiar shape, with a Registered Players segment in which pre-registered pianists performed for the room, followed by an open segment of jamming and shared tips; from meetup number 101 onwards, ensemble performances with additional instruments were added. One special edition, meetup number 19, moved to Suntec Singapore's convention centre for a Casio piano-jamming weekend, with players trying a white and a black Casio Celviano grand hybrid piano. In total, 148 meetups ran from 2016 until the organisers announced on 25 March 2022 that the weekly gathering was discontinued indefinitely. The directory listing still shows 5 Temasek Blvd and phone 8792 3477, but enquirers should check ThePiano.SG before travelling, since the meetup itself is no longer running weekly.
