Raffles Singers

Raffles Singers is not a singing school but an award-winning Singapore choir, and this draft says so plainly because the listing files it under Vocal. Founded in 2001 by conductor Toh Ban Sheng, the choir grew from past singers of Raffles Chorale, recipients of the 1999 Best Choir of the Year award, reuniting for a full-house concert at Victoria Concert Hall. Its choristers are drawn from top Singaporean school choirs, experienced independent singers, accomplished choral conductors and voice and music teachers, and it sings both period and contemporary choral music under Toh's artistic direction. The choir's own About page records a triple Grand Prix haul in Europe, at Torun in 2015 and at Bratislava and Salzburg in 2019, a first for a Singaporean choir in over twenty years at the 11th World Symposium on Choral Music in Barcelona in 2017, and a Grand Prix finalist finish with First Place in Mixed Choirs at the 2025 Varna competition in Bulgaria. The listing gives its base as 12 Tai Hwan Dr. No lesson fees, class times or age bands apply here: this is ensemble membership, and how to join was not stated on the pages opened for this batch.
