Founded in 1981 by His Holiness Swami Shantanand Saraswathi, Temple of Fine Arts Singapore is a cultural institution built around the Indian arts, taught, practised and offered back to the community just for the love of it. Its academy takes an integrated approach: classes span both dance and music, and a dedicated, experienced faculty treats helping each student build a personal relationship with the arts as a revered duty. Beyond classes, TFA stages productions that aim to share that love of art with audiences, and as a not-for-profit it keeps class fees as minimal as possible, turning nobody away for want of financial means, with public performances open to all with no admission fee. The Downtown Gallery directory puts the Singapore cohort at about 700 students taught by more than 20 faculty members, and lists the school at units #02-13/14/16 in Downtown Gallery on Shenton Way. The SG Musician listing gives the same Shenton Way address and a trial-lesson enquiry route, but names no individual subjects, age groups or timetables, so prospective students should confirm current class offerings directly.
