The Music Circle runs an outlet at Katong V, 30 East Coast Road, #03-07, offering piano and violin lessons and music and movement classes for students from preschool to adult. Lessons follow The Music Circle Method, the school's own curriculum, and are open to all ages and abilities.

Lessons and programmes

• Early Childhood Music Pathway (ages 2 to 5): The Mini Circle (2 years), The Tiny Circle (3 years), The Little Circle (4 years) and The Junior Circle (5 years, pre-instrumental). Classes for ages 2 and 3 are 40 minutes and parent-accompanied; ages 4 and 5 are 45 minutes and non parent-accompanied.
• Instrumental Academy: individual piano lessons (age 5 and above) and individual violin lessons (age 6 and above), from beginner to advanced.
• Group classes and ensembles, juries, aural and theory assessments, performance classes, the Honours Programme and parent workshops.
• Adult students: a one-hour trial music lesson can be arranged.

How lessons are taught

The Music Circle Method, developed by Artistic Director Dr. Tang Tee Tong and the curriculum team, follows a musical progression that parallels language learning and combines visual, aural and kinesthetic learning. It incorporates proven pedagogies such as Kodaly, Dalcroze, Suzuki and Gordon's Music Learning Theory.
