Vinnie Classroom

Vinnie Classroom is a specialised music school in Upper Thomson, Singapore, offering ukulele lessons, guitar lessons, piano lessons, drum lessons and music theory lessons for students of a wide age range. Founded in 2014, it set out to give students of all ages a comfortable, encouraging place to learn at their own pace, build confidence and gain performance experience.

Lessons and programmes

• Guitar, ukulele and bass: ukulele, acoustic guitar, fingerstyle guitar, electric guitar and bass guitar lessons.
• Piano: piano for kids, piano for adults, keyboard for adults and contemporary piano, including gaming, anime and modern favourites.
• Drums: drum lessons for boys and girls alike.
• Music theory: lessons on reading, writing and understanding music, whatever instrument you play.
• Corporate workshops and short workshops: the school also runs corporate music workshops and post-exam group workshops.

Why students choose Vinnie Classroom

Lessons take place in dedicated music studios with sound-treated, acoustically padded walls, and the school describes its teachers as certified, experienced and often active local musicians who perform with their own bands. The team includes founders Vinnie Mah (guitar) and Zee (piano), together with teachers such as Sean (bass) and Leonard (piano). The school takes part in the Arts and Music Instructor Scheme (AMIS) with primary schools and has also served in Guitar SYF Central Judging events.

Performance is part of the teaching approach: students perform at annual recitals in front of an audience of around 100 people. For adults, lessons focus on enjoyment and personal satisfaction rather than exam scores.

New students can book a 45-minute trial lesson, a full lesson offered upon sign-up for regular classes, so that teachers can understand your current level and goals.
