Virtuosi Music Centre

Founded in 2001 by principal Masako Suzuki White, Virtuosi Music Centre presents itself as a school for the violin alone, welcoming young children, students and adults whether they play for recreation or aim at a professional career. Lessons are one-on-one by design: the school argues that tone colour differs from person to person, so a rigid group curriculum would not serve its pupils, and each student's progress sets the pace of their own curriculum. Its classes run from a Beginner Class covering hold, posture, breathing, bowing and pitch, through an Intermediate Class for players who can already read scores, to a Master Class aimed at musicality, performance technique, international competitions and entry to music schools abroad. Pupils aiming at certification are prepared for ABRSM Exams and Trinity College London, and school performances let students form duets, trios and ensembles. Trial lessons begin with an application form, after which the school confirms schedule, instructor and class level.
