VocalArt

At 335 Clementi Avenue 2, Singapore 120335, VocalArt is built around one coach and one specialism: musical theatre singing. Its trainer, Low Keng Shin, has taught vocal technique full-time since 1996 and has worked with vocalists aged from 9 to 72. The school says he studied vocal technique, vocal pedagogy and modern voice science under singing voice specialist Dr Jean Callaghan of Sydney, and draws on the American musical theatre approach of Mary Saunders, Norman Spivey, Raymond Sage and Beverly Patton of Pennsylvania State University. Keng Shin is a trained vocal pedagogue, tenor and mime who still performs professionally, and his students have included professional musical theatre performers, stage actors, voice actors, voice teachers, choir conductors, music directors, church worship leaders and motivated amateurs. His Keng-Shin Technique blends musical theatre artistry with vocal efficiency foundations covering bodyworks, valving and voicing, and vocal acoustics, alongside a sense of play drawn from Jacques Lecoq.
