What's Your Jam?

What's Your Jam? is a one-studio, one-instructor music space at 7B Kampong Bahru Road, run by founder Hafiz John Dzulkifli, a multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer and producer with 18 years of teaching and performing experience since 2007. After opening a larger six-studio school in 2018, Hafiz returned the business to its roots so he could stay hands-on, teaching guitar, drums, ukulele, keys and vocals himself, known for live looping and stage performance. Lessons are fun, engaging and personalised for ages 4 and above, one-on-one or in small groups, covering singing, piano, guitar, drums, ukulele, ear training and music theory. Programmes include single-instrument study, the Explore Program for beginners and young learners trying different instruments, and Play and Sing, which builds the ability to sing while accompanying yourself on an instrument. Teaching follows the Rockschool syllabus but goes beyond exams into real-world musicianship and recording, and the studio also offers professional recording, production classes and band rehearsal. Monthly plans published on its own site are Little Learner at SGD 200 for four 30-minute one-to-one lessons for children aged 4 to 12, Individual at SGD 240 for four 45-minute lessons, and Buddy at SGD 400 for four 45-minute lessons shared by two students, all with online booking and same-day rescheduling. A one-hour music mentor session is listed at SGD 100.
