Nousound Academy

Looking for music lessons in Singapore near the city centre? Nousound Academy is a music academy at UE Square, 81 Clemenceau Avenue, a three-minute walk from Fort Canning MRT (DT20). It offers private one-on-one or group classes in guitar, ukulele, bass, piano, drums and vocals, tailored to the genre each student wants to play.

Lessons and programmes

• Guitar, bass and ukulele lessons: fretting-hand and strumming or plucking technique, reading notation and tablature, playing by ear, improvisation and music theory, on acoustic or electric instruments.
• Piano lessons: technique and scales, repertoire, treble and bass clef reading, sight-reading, aural training and music theory across genres.
• Drum lessons: rudiments, reading drum notation, playing by ear and ensemble playing in pop, funk, R&B, rock and jazz.
• Vocal lessons: healthy technique and breathing, stamina, vocal styling such as runs and melismas, ear training, sight singing and theory.

The minimum age listed for guitar, bass, ukulele and vocal lessons is 5.5 years, and the academy says trial lessons are available.
