Looking for piano lessons in Singapore or violin lessons near Bedok Reservoir? Violin and Piano Music Studio is a husband-and-wife music studio on Bedok Reservoir Road, teaching piano, violin and music theory since 2010. Piano teacher Ms Tan Dihui and violinist Mr Ng Wei Ping teach children, teenagers and adults in one-to-one lessons aligned to the ABRSM syllabus.
Lessons and programmes
- Piano with Ms Tan Dihui: beginner to Grade 8 and diploma, ages 3 to adults, 45 or 60 minute lessons. Ms Tan holds the LRSM and DipABRSM and a PGDE from NIE.
- Violin with Mr Ng Wei Ping: beginner to Grade 8, ages 4 to adults, 45 or 60 minute lessons. Fractional-size violins from 1/16 to 1/4 are used for young beginners, and a free violin loan is offered for the first two lessons.
- Music theory: ABRSM Grades 1 to 8 from age 7, in private lessons or small groups of 2 to 4 students.
Students can prepare for ABRSM practical and theory examinations, the National Piano and Violin Competitions, and diploma study. Those who prefer to learn without exams are also welcome.

Annual student concert "Music for the Young."
Piano students are accepted from age 3 and violin students from age 4. Younger children have shorter 30-minute lessons with a parent present, focusing on musical games, ear training and a gentle introduction to the instrument.
No. The studio has adult students at every level, from complete beginners to those returning to music after decades.
Yes. The studio offers a one-time trial lesson at a reduced rate so you can meet the teacher, see the studio and decide if it is the right fit.
For piano you need access to a keyboard or piano for home practice; even a basic 61-key keyboard works for the first few months. For violin, the teachers advise on size and where to rent or buy a beginner instrument, and a free violin loan is offered for the first two lessons.
Weekly lessons are standard, and some adult students prefer fortnightly. Piano and violin lessons are 45 or 60 minutes, and theory lessons are 60 minutes.
