Looking for music lessons in Singapore for your child, teen or yourself? Yamaha Music School is Yamaha's own music school network in Singapore, teaching through group and individual lessons at Yamaha branches in shopping malls and community clubs across the island. This is the brand-level listing; each branch has its own page with its own address and phone.
Lessons and programmes
Children's courses run from age 2. Yamaha lists the Apple Course (age 2), Yamaha Primary Course Explorer (age 3), Yamaha Primary Course (ages 4 to 5.5), Yamaha Piano Course (age 5.5 and above), Piano Course for Children (ages 6 to 8), Junior Electone Course (ages 6 to 8), Electone Study Course (age 10 and above), Junior Guitar Course (ages 7 to 11), Pop Guitar for Kids (ages 6 to 11) and Junior Drum Course (ages 6 to 12). Teens and adults can choose from classical piano, pop and jazz piano, portable keyboard, acoustic, electric, classical and bass guitar, ukulele, drums, cajon, saxophone, flute, clarinet, violin and vocal lessons, taught in groups or individually. Individual lessons are held on weekdays, except for the Yamaha Pianoforte Course.

Yamaha's children's courses start from age 2 with the Apple Course, then the Yamaha Primary Course Explorer at age 3 and the Yamaha Primary Course from ages 4 to 5.5. The Yamaha Piano Course starts at age 5.5 and above, and other courses such as Junior Guitar (7 to 11) and Junior Drum (6 to 12) have their own age ranges. Yamaha says the age requirements exist so students are not disadvantaged by differences in maturity.
Yamaha Music School Singapore advertises free trial lessons for all ages. You choose a course by age or instrument on the Yamaha website, then pick your preferred location and schedule during booking.
Besides the course fee there is a registration fee, and a deposit of $150 if you choose not to pay by GIRO. The deposit is returned when you graduate or terminate the course with no outstanding fees. Most course fees are payable monthly or before each term of 3 months, with a $5 (subject to GST) surcharge for an unsuccessful GIRO deduction or late payment. Exact course fees are not published on the Yamaha website; confirm them with the school.
According to Yamaha's FAQ, lessons are not held during Yamaha term holidays or gazetted public holidays and are not replaced. Missed lessons are not replaced, and lessons are neither transferable nor refundable.
Yamaha asks for one calendar month of written notice to terminate a course. The registration fee is non-refundable.
